The public transportation in Boston (MBTA) uses a payment system similar to a debit card, called a Charlie Card. Riders swipe the card upon entering the train or bus. The trouble with this system is that riders often lose these cards. An electronic Charlie Card would solve these two problems. Riders can add the funds online through the mobile application and use their phone to pay for trips. This app will have significant functions: choose the card’s style, process the payment, MBTA map, and schedule. I believe that this change can help the MBTA system reduce many issues every day.
